IF you’re looking to spruce up your outdoor space this summer, a Dollar Tree superfan has a DIY project that’s easy and cheap.
Liz Fenwick shares the hack that can be performed on products sold at Dollar Tree and other discount stores.
It has never been easier to create decorations for your outdoor space – including decorative cushions.
Liz recommends getting a towel with a fun print at the store first.
Tea towels could work well as they have fun prints for summer.
Liz chose a towel with a bright flamingo print.
Take the towel and fold it so that the pattern sides touch on the inside and the blank sides face out, she explained in a recent video.
Using a hot glue gun, glue two of the three sides together along the top of the pattern page.
Allow the glue to dry before turning the pillow over so the pattern side is now facing out.
Liz then decided to use polyfil, which she bought at a thrift store, to fill the pillow.
But you can also use an old pillow lying around your house if it fits.
To seal the pillow, Liz took the open ends, tucked them underneath and taped the edges and pinched them together until dry.
The process can then be repeated to make more pillows.
Liz says in her video that it only cost her $4 to make the two pillows.
She put them on her outdoor glider to jazz up her place for the summer.
You can mix and match different towels and prints or create matching pillows.
