DESIGN experts reveal which $10 Store items can get you the most bang for your buck while boosting your style at home.
While dollar stores may not always be your first thought of decor, experts say they should become your go-to place.
There are a number of dollar store items that look like high-end items but are only around $1, writes Cynthia Measom.
Picture frames are one such item. They make a great gift for others, but they can also help you transform the look of your home.
The decorative frames are suitable for art and photos that you already have or can give your bedroom, bathroom or office a fresh look.
Frames generally cost $1 or more depending on size and may not always be available online, so it’s best to buy them in-store.
In addition to picture frames, there are small wall art and signs.
Dollar stores often have a decent range of options when it comes to small signs and wall art that can look more expensive than just a few dollars.
Bourbon glasses are another dollar store item to look out for.
They make great gifts but can also liven up your space.
You can purchase individual glasses to create your own set, or select four or six of the same glasses for your collection or for gifting.
“These look so elegant and better than just plain old-fashioned jar, and they’re only $1.25 each, which you can’t beat,” said Julie Ramhold of DealNews.
The same applies to pilsner glasses, which can also be purchased individually in inexpensive sets.
Other glassware, such as tumblers and various cocktail glasses, can also be purchased from the Dollar Store, both for individual use and to create fun sets.
Decorative plates can also add elegance to any table setting and can be purchased cheaply at the Dollar Store.
Coffee mugs are another great dollar store purchase. These mugs, which are usually expensive elsewhere, are easily replaced at the dollar store if they accidentally break in your kitchen.
If you’re attending a birthday or other party, the Dollar Store is a great place to shop for gift bags—especially Disney-themed ones.
You can often find popular characters on gift bags and even cards for a fraction of the price you would pay elsewhere.
Washi tape and mylar balloons are the last items to buy from the dollar store if you want to save money.
While these may be limited in terms of colors and offers, buying from a dollar store will definitely benefit your bank account.
