Washing dishes after cooking a large meal can lead to major disasters if you don’t scrape your plates adequately beforehand.
Well, a cleaning expert shared her trick to keeping her sink from getting clogged — but sadly, people weren’t there.
Taking to social media, a woman, known simply as Heather, shared that she bought a sink strainer for just $13.
The strainer is placed in the corner of the sink where it can’t get in the way without clogging the sink while you’re doing the dishes.
Each time you use it, wrap a thin mesh around it to drop your leftovers into as you go.
This prevents water from collecting in the mesh and food from slipping through the sieve.
Along with her video, she wrote, “The sink strainer is killing it again.”
Unfortunately, despite their enthusiasm, many people didn’t like their idea that much.
One person wrote: “A regular one is better to use so you don’t use so much plastic.”
“So you don’t have the metal colander that comes with the sink yet?” asked a second. “It works well for me and is it environmentally friendly?”
And a third commented: “Let’s not create any more waste, just get a drain cover and empty it.”
Also, others were more upset that she didn’t throw away the leftovers before doing the dishes.
One user said, “Doesn’t anyone clear their dishes in front of the sink?”
While a second added: “I was years old today when I found out not everyone has disposals in their sink.”
Would you have this strainer by the side of your sink? Or do you prefer the normal one?
