I’m a cleaning expert – the non-gross way to clean your toilet brush without making a mess

MOST people don’t even want to think about the rudeness that’s left on their toilet brush after cleaning the dresser.
But you really should – and one clever TikToker shared her trick to cleaning the brush without making a mess.

The mom, who posts as Vicols Family, shared her method of disinfecting toilet brushes on TikTok in January.
Instead of trying to wash the brush in the sink or bathtub, where it could splatter coarse particles everywhere, it uses the very place it got dirty in the first place: the toilet.
But thanks to a clever angling, the brush does not mix with new bacteria.
First she lifts the lid of the toilet and slides the brush under it.

The lid is then closed over it, holding it in place with the brush hovering over the bowl.
Boiling water from a kettle is then poured onto the brush, with the used water and any splashes falling directly into the toilet.
Next, she fills the toilet brush holder with Pine-Sol and pours a little into the soil.
Finally the brush is returned to the holder, now hot and seeped with cleaner.
Commenters are enthusiastic about the method, calling it “super helpful” and “brilliant”.
Others have suggested using bleach instead of Pine-Sol, while some have insisted it’s cleaner to buy disposable brushes.
Some have warned that pouring boiling water down the toilet might be a bad idea.
“If you pour hot water down the toilet, the bowl can crack and even ruin your pipes. DON’T DO THIS,” one chided.
“Using the hot water could crack your toilet, I wouldn’t recommend that,” said another.
