Instead, there’s a hidden kitchen ingredient that’s just as good at removing that pesky oven grime.
A cleaning enthusiast and mom of two named Dominika has shared her simple trick for you to look no further than your kitchen cupboard.
In a video, she revealed that all you need to clean your oven is a bowl of water and a lemon.
Dominika’s cleaning tip might be the cheapest out there, as a lemon will only cost you about 50 cents if you don’t have one on hand.

In the video, Dominika takes a bowl of water with a crushed lemon and puts it in the oven at around 390 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) for 20 to 30 minutes.
Once the time was up, she let the oven cool down a bit and used the lemon water and a towel to wipe away all the grease and grime on the oven so it sparkled.
Dominika’s trick has impressed people in the comments.
One wrote: “Definitely going to try this out soon!
Another added, “Oh…thank you… My oven is definitely overdue for a good cleaning.”
“What a good idea, I’ll actually try that,” read a third comment.
Someone else quipped, “Omg why didn’t I think of that?! It works in a microwave, why not in a stove?! Thanks!”
