THIS weird but effective cleaning trick will have your oven sparkling clean in no time.
There are many bizarre cleaning tricks out there, but this one where you put your oven racks in the bathtub might be one of the weirdest.
Leslie Lamberts, or @lambertslately as she is known to her followers, shared her weird oven cleaning trick on TikTok.
The first step in this weird method is to take your grates out of the oven and place them in a bath of hot water. If you don’t have a bathroom, a sink might work, but this may take longer as you’ll likely have to clean half a rack at a time.
Then you should put 15 to 20 dryer sheets in the water and stir a little.
Leave the grate in the water for a few hours, preferably overnight – this gives you time to clean the rest of the oven as well.
Once a few hours have passed (or you’ve left it overnight) you can use the dryer sheets to wipe down the racks.
Then spray the shelves with water – if your bathroom comes with a shower, you can use that instead of running it under the faucet.
Finally, let the grates dry, then simply pop them back in the oven when they’re done.
“It’s a bit gross because you have to wash up there later,” said one follower, while others hailed the tech as “a brilliant move.”
Other weird cleaning tricks include using vinegar to descale your kettle.
All you have to do is:
- Fill half the kettle with water and the other half with vinegar.
- Boil the kettle and then pour out the water.
- Repeat this process until you have removed all limescale deposits.
- Then reboil the kettle with water to remove any vinegar taste.
Another bizarre cleaning method involves using shaving cream, glue, baking soda, and contact solution to clean the inside of your car.
These tips may seem strange, but the TikTokers behind them certainly show that they are pretty effective.
