A mother-of-three has revealed how her midwife yelled at her to be quiet in the middle of the birth.
Yasmyn Switzer, mother of three daughters from the United States, shared the ordeal on TikTok.
The new mum, 20, revealed her midwife yelled at her as she gave birth to their youngest daughter.
Yasmyn explained that she stayed at home for most of the labor and only went to the hospital an hour before her daughter was born, when the problems started.
The mother asked for water first as it was important to stay hydrated during labor and was not given water for half an hour and was still not hooked up to an IV.
Then two nurses came to check on the mother, but she believes one of them was new as a nurse explained how to check how far Yasmyn is.
When the doctor came in to help with the delivery, she pushed, and like any woman, she made noises during labor and pushing.
She revealed, “In the middle of my contraction, the doctor says, ‘I need you to be quiet so I can hear.’
“It was so rude, I saw this doctor a lot during my pregnancies and she always didn’t have the best bedside manners.”
Although Yasmyn said she doesn’t want to have any more children, she said if she did, she wouldn’t want to go to the hospital for the birth after her ordeal.
She captioned the video: “I think I’m done having children but if I were to have more I would happily attempt a home birth with a midwife and doula that I choose and trust.
The video has since gone viral with over 200,000 views and many telling her to file a complaint.
One wrote: “I would write the hospital a letter. So inappropriate! Especially at such a precarious time for you.”
“Gosh you are literally pushing a human out of you they have no right,” commented another.
