I worked at Ulta – our security guards don’t hunt shoplifters, but that does NOT mean you can get away with it

ULTA is a hotspot for beauty products.
You can find makeup, skincare and haircare from so many different brands and prices in one well organized place.

A former Ulta employee revealed a little-known fact about the store that should keep would-be thieves at bay.
The former employee, named Tanya Wright, posted on TikTok and responded to the prompt, “Tell me a company secret you can share because you don’t work there anymore.”
Tanya began, “Ulta… we were told never to chase anyone. Let her take the goods. They have insurance for that.
“However, we’ve been told to be so nice to you, so overly nice that you’re so uncomfortable that you’ll just be like, ‘Oh, that’s fine, I don’t need anything. I’ll just go.’”

Although it might appear that this policy allows shoplifters to steal products from the store, Tanya said she should reconsider:
“But if you do an in and out, an employee will actually check that you’re in a car and that there’s a license plate.
“You’ve been picked up too, and you’ll be blasted into every single store, and everyone will know to look for you.”
She said the police will also be contacted about what happened.
In the comments, Tanya also claimed that security guards are “not allowed” to stalk anyone, instead serving as a deterrent to would-be thieves.
