I work at Aldi and we hate a lot of things buyers say and no we don’t scan slower no matter how many times you ask

IF there’s one thing Aldi is known for besides cheap groceries, it’s the fear of it very fast payment process.
In fact, it’s so fast that some customers feel a pang of anxiety as they approach these dreaded checkouts.

But Aldi employee Kelcey Atkinson, 19 and from the UK, has revealed it’s not just customers who are upset.
In a short video posted to TikTok, Kelcey shared a list of some of the regular questions she gets from shoppers every day.
She began: “Things I don’t like to hear as an Aldi employee.”
The supermarket worker initially noted that she was constantly being told to slow down the scan and regularly asked why the food was so cheap.
She went on to highlight some of the other annoying questions she received, including, “Is it over with?” and “Can I speak to your manager?”
Kelcey added that she hates when shoppers ask if she can get a discount and finds it frustrating when they ask if items will be back in stock.
And don’t even think about asking if something can be made available for collection at a later date…

Not surprisingly, it wasn’t long before customers hit the comments section to discuss the supermarket employee’s revelations.
“Scan as fast as you want, I’m not packing any faster,” wrote one.
A second commented: “Told one to scan faster… They looked like they were in shock.”
Meanwhile, a third wrote: “Not everyone is rude when they ask you to scan slower. We know you have goals, but some people get scared at those registers.”

Elsewhere, other supermarket employees stepped in and agreed with Kelcey’s list.
“That’s so true, we get the same at Sainsbury’s,” admitted one.
Another wrote: “I work at Lidl and hear the exact same things.”
