A WOMAN who flew to Turkey to get new teeth has revealed – just months later – that her dentist gave her a VERY dire warning.
Jak Reid, from Paisley, Renfrewshire, shared the results of her cosmetic dentistry with her 69,000 fans on TikTok earlier this year.
She’s been branded a “silly” and “brainless little girl” by some people for getting the new smile, which she said didn’t bother her.
But yesterday she released audio of what her “lovely” dentist in the UK had said.
The dentist said, “I’m just going to say this, I know you don’t want to hear this. A lot of tissue has been removed here…there’s not much else you can do from here other than implants.”
Jak, who claimed her teeth are currently fine, did not fully explain why she had visited her dentist, of whom she had no criticism.
“It was my lovely dentist advising me, my teeth are fine. I knew the risks of dealing with it,” she said.
She previously said she was “so happy with her new smile” after spending £3,500 on the pearly white crowns, flights and accommodation.
Jak was inundated with negative comments after posting about her “turkey teeth” on social media – with people telling her, “You’re going to regret it,” it’s a “life of pain,” and even that she “given her.” ruined my life”.
Another asked: “Why are you doing this? I’m just trying to understand why someone would ruin healthy teeth for cosmetic reasons.”
But the influencer insists she did her research on the procedure – and found her teeth were already damaged, so she wasn’t wasting any “healthy ones”.
Proving her knowledge, she told TikTok followers, “I’ve had veneers for 6-7 years. I have a five-year guarantee against breakdowns and damage.
“With good care, they can last 15 to 25 years. I have had root canals on my front teeth before. I’ve been looking for places for two years.”
And she added: “My teeth weren’t really healthy. I’ve already had a root canal in the front teeth and I’ve already had veneers so I haven’t really ruined healthy teeth. My teeth were already f*****.”
Jak’s videos about her dental work in Turkey have been viewed millions of times in recent weeks.
And despite some hate, many social media users were full of praise for her new smile.
One gushed: “You look amazing.”
A second said: “First turkey teeth I’ve seen look halfway decent.”
Meanwhile, a third wrote: “You look so natural.”
Jak had a total of 22 zirconia crowns fitted, including a bridge at the back of her mouth.
“I don’t really read the comments on my videos. Mean people have no place in my head.”
