WE ALL love our pets – but sometimes not our furniture.
From fur to the cushions to cat scratches on your beloved dining table.
But thankfully, one cat owner has revealed the simple trick she uses to keep her cats from scratching any furniture in sight.
And the best? It will only refund you £1.
There are ways to buy furniture covers to prevent them from getting permanently damaged.
But this clever hack won’t ruin the look of your furniture.
Posting Joja und Pon on her TikTok account, she revealed that cats hate the smell of white pepper.
She demonstrates how her cat turns away as soon as she opens the pepper tube.
To use it on furniture, she simply takes a small amount and rubs it on her sofa chair.
The smell of the white pepper deters your cat from approaching the leg chair and scratching it.
Since then, the video has been viewed over three million times and viewers have been deeply impressed.
One wrote: “I’ll try that like this… thanks.”
“I hope it also helps that citrus sprays like lemon or orange work well too. And have a scratching post nearby,” she advised.
Another commented: “Have to try this as my sofa and rugs are broken and nothing has worked so far.”
A third wrote: “Oooooooh game changer.”
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “I’ll try this, one of my cats keeps scratching my sofa and bed.”
She revealed that cats need a place to scratch – so it’s best to buy them a scratching post to keep them entertained and to file their claws.
You can buy white pepper from most supermarkets for as little as £1.
