Mom Kristen, who runs blog The Fox Says Twins, took to social media to share how she differentiates her 2-year-old twin daughters.

She first explained that when she found out she was having twins, switching them was one of her biggest nightmares.

However, she was proud of never having done it with her simple hacks.

“First they get these handy dandy bracelets, one on the ankle and one on the arm,” she began.

“We kept them on as long as we could – until it was time to take newborn photos.

“We wanted them to look so cute and cuddly, so my mum had the great idea of tucking a Sharpie behind one of her ears when we were cutting off their bracelets so we would know who Jayna and Kinsley were.

“We then settled on color-coded bracelets, so Jayne was always pink and Kinsley was purple.

“Until finally, six months later, Jayna got a little freckle on her arm and today, two years later, Kinsley has a nice little freckle on her forehead.

“So now when they get close, we know who Jayna is and who Kinsley is, and they were never switched.”

In a previous video, Kristen and her husband filmed the moment one of their daughters walked into their bedroom and they had no idea who it was.

She was heard whispering to her husband, who waved the little girl closer, “I don’t even know who that is.”

“That looks like a Jayne,” he told her when the mother asked the little girl who she was.

She just whispered that she was Kinsley before the actual Jayne showed up.

After posting the video, many parents took to the comments section to explain how they managed to tell their twins apart.

“One of mine had a painted toenail,” one wrote.

A second wrote: “I also have twins who we put gold anklets on with their names engraved on them until we could tell them apart.”

And a third, who is a true twin himself, added: “My brother and I are identical twins! I always had a freckle in front of my ear and my brother is behind his ear.”
