“I put a hot cup of tea on my friend’s dad’s table and it left a white stain – I thought it was ruined,” she began a video on her TikTok page.
“But I tried this trick I learned on the internet.
“Cover the mark with a tea towel.
“Take a low iron and rub it over the stain.
“Keep it up – it’s scary!”
Check after about 10 or 15 seconds and “if you pull it back the stain is gone”.
“He’ll never find out,” she concluded.
The comments section quickly filled with people offering their own suggestions for removing such a stain, with one writing, “The stain on a table like this will go away on its own in no time.”
“He’s been there for six months! We have to return it next week so I wouldn’t hold my breath,” Sarah replied.
“Mayonnaise works too, leave it on the stain for 10 minutes,” added another.
As a third commented: “Rubbing in wood ash works great too!! Tip from my grandma.”
“This is really good,” said another.

“I also heard that grating walnuts also works. Can you try?”
“I tried baking soda and toothpaste first! Didn’t work,” Sarah replied.
