FAMOUS convenience store chain Buc-ee’s has branched out from its Texas roots and has begun opening new stores across the US.
Buc-ee’s is known for its “world famous” bathrooms, hot food and snacks, and grocery store gifts.
The chain was founded in Texas in 1982. Since then she has opened more than 50 branches. Most are in Texas, but the chain has begun to branch out into other states down south.
But no matter the location, visitors to Buc-ee’s will find snacks, grills, wine and some of the cleanest restrooms ever seen at a roadside stop.
In fact, one of the chain’s South Texas locations won a statewide toilet contest for the cleanest bathrooms in 2012.
The restrooms are larger than a typical rest stop stand and decorated with art on the inside.
Restrooms at Buc-ee’s are equipped with motion-activated sinks, toilets, and hand dryers.
Buc-ee’s also holds two world records: The same New Braunfels store has the largest convenience store in the world at 66,335 square feet. Another Texas location has the longest car wash in the world at 255 feet.
As far as dining goes, the chain has a bakery, jerky counter, fudge counter, and made-to-order hot food.
Hot items include breakfast sandwiches and tacos. There is also a full deli counter.
Most of the food is freshly prepared on-site, according to the chain’s website.
There is no shortage of snacks either. The supermarket stocks dozens of different sweets and snacks that come naturally to car trips.
Wine lovers will be pleased to know that Buc-ee’s has a wine section with pairing and tasting notes.
There is also a huge selection of Buc-ee’s branded merchandise including t-shirts, candy and more.
The shopping aspect of the store has been compared to that of a Cracker Barrel in terms of offerings.
You can buy various gifts including hanging wall signs and scented candles.
Of course there are also petrol pumps for refueling your vehicle.
All Buc-ee locations are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
