The Amazon product, a Farmhouse Metal Magnetic Lint Bin, retails for $30.99. The waste bin is intended for mounting on laundry room walls.

Joy used three Dollar Tree products to achieve the same look: a plastic trash can, stickers, and a black marker.

The TikTok shows their process of recreating the Amazon version with their cheaper products.

“No thanks to the $30 version on Amazon,” she captioned the video.

Using the stickers, Joy spells “Lint” on the plastic trash can.

Then she paints the edge of the basket black.

Joy also wrote in the comments that she secured the basket to the wall with two thumbtacks spaced about three inches apart. She noted that screws or nails would also work.

Many TikTokers praised them for the hack.

“Yes! Thanks. I’ll make one today and hang it up,” wrote one user.

“I did that too. My husband added a magnet and it hangs right on the side of my dryer,” wrote one TikToker.

“That’s such a great idea!! I’m about to make one for my laundry room! Thanks for posting fun DIYs,” wrote another user.

Other users had additional ideas for using the basket.
