I took my two year old to daycare but they left him ALONE and didn’t change his diapers, I was appalled

MOTHERS are often reluctant to leave their babies in someone else’s care.

Aside from the separation anxiety that comes with saying goodbye to your little one, it’s also hard to trust that the caregiver will treat your child as well as you have.

A mother shared a terrifying experience two years ago after leaving her then two-year-old son at daycare.

In the clip, she began: “We moved into a new house and had to find a new daycare for him.

“I found this one daycare that wasn’t open yet. The grand opening was like the week we needed childcare, so I thought, ‘Great!’”

After touring the facility, she was very impressed and confident that her son would enjoy it there.

“That was cutting edge. They had cameras. It was fancy and I figured fancy means it has to be nice and they have to take really good care of the kids.

Fast forward to the day she dropped him off at daycare:

She had dressed her son in Thomas The Train pull-up diapers that morning, but gave the teachers a box of Paw Patrol diapers to change through the day.

“So I go to the cameras and I see my son standing at the door.

“And the teacher opens the door – mind you, he’s two, not a potty, nowhere near, you know that, I’ve let you know – and she takes him into the bathroom, doesn’t turn on the light, and shuts the door.

“And I look at that on camera and I’m like, ‘What’s going on? Why is he alone in the bathroom?’ So I panic.”

After about five minutes, she called the daycare center.

“He could happily drown in the toilet, I don’t know.”

When she told the principal over the phone what she had seen, he said he would go into the classroom to check on the situation.

“So on camera I see him walking into the room and asking the teacher something. And the teacher goes to the bathroom door where my son was and opens the door.

“And my son was just standing at the door with the saddest expression on his face and I was looking at that on camera and I got a really bad feeling.”

She added that her son was in a classroom with six and seven-year-olds – all much older than him – and wondered if because the school was opening day they might not have enough teachers or students to properly classify the children.

“Well, that kind of put me off.”

Perhaps the worst realization, however, came when she picked up her son at the end of the day.

“To top it off, when I brought him home that night he was still wearing his Thomas The Train diaper. They had never changed his diaper.

“I was literally in tears. My husband had to go to school the next day and we got a full refund.”

Viewers were horrified by the story and feared the same would happen to their children:

“I told my husband that I would quit my job before our son started kindergarten. Absolutely not. Far too many horror stories,” wrote one.

“I don’t understand why anyone would want to work in a daycare if they don’t like kids??? how huh???? added another.

“I used to work in daycare before I had my son, so I will NEVER put my kids in daycare, EVER. Way too many shady things that are hidden,” said a third.

However, others said they were fortunate to have experienced the opposite type of treatment:

“WHAT?!? I work in a daycare center and my boss tags the kids when they leave, double checks the rooms, etc. It’s just carelessness,” one wrote.

“I used to work at a daycare and I loved all the little ones like they were my own,” added another.

And finally, one person applauded the mother for her proactive actions: “That mommy intuition probably saved your son. I’m so sorry you went through that.”

The mother also said that all the other children in the classroom were much older than her son
