I refused to throw in money for our platinum anniversary street party, now my neighbor has forbidden me to leave the house

NEIGHBORHOODS across the country are looking forward to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Many street parties are planned this weekend to celebrate the Queen.

But one man has claimed his neighbor told him he couldn’t leave his property on the day of the street festival – as he wouldn’t throw in money to pay for a chicken.

He took to Reddit to ask if his neighbor could ban him from his street, explaining: “Two weeks ago the subject of the anniversary came up with my neighbor and they asked for £14 per household to buy 17kg of it could have chicken for the party.

“I refused, the neighbor ran away, but I didn’t think anything of it.”

The man claims he got a letter through the door from his neighbor saying he couldn’t leave his house on Friday, the day of the street festival.

The neighbor threatened them: “If you see me outside, send ‘councilmen over’.

“Is this legal? Is the council really on their side? I’ve paid my council tax using the 10 payment method for the last 7 years.”

Many users told him to be nitpicky and sit outside and join the festivities with his own chicken to eat.

But the story might be too good to be true, as his apparent “neighbor” posted on the same forum with his side of the argument just hours later.

The “neighbor” claimed the £14 went for “soda, cups, decorations and a large free-range chicken that he would marinate in pickles and curry powder”.

He said most of his neighbors are willing to help, but one.

The man added: “One guy (I don’t know his name but he was wearing a Spider-Man mask) refused to contribute but said he’d still like to come outside and have fun with us.

“I threw a letter through his door this morning to warn him that if he tried to join, the council would step in.

“However, I emailed the council on Monday and they still haven’t responded, so I’m starting to worry.

“If it comes down to it, I’ll consider calling the police.

“Will you be able to help with something like this?”

Although many forum users are skeptical of the story, it made everyone laugh.

One wrote: “Why don’t you just put him under house arrest? I’ve heard a rumor that he has his own chicken and he’s planning to taunt you by eating it right outside his property… surely this behavior needs to be stopped at all costs!?”

“Hahaha, that’s top notch,” laughed another user.

A third joked: “I heard he plans to eat KFC on the street. You want to take care of him…”

“Hahaha, good. I would have believed it if I hadn’t read the other post first,” added a fourth.
