I only wash my clothes when they smell or are visibly dirty, some have never been washed

WE ARE all guilty of doing some pretty gross things – but that doesn’t mean we’d confess to them on the internet.

But one woman took up the challenge of doing just that on her TikTok account, June Awakening.

June from the US recently revealed that she hardly ever washes her clothes and some people were disgusted by the admission.

She explained that there was no point in her washing something that wasn’t dirty – and would only wash things if they smelled or were visibly dirty.

For garments with small stains, she simply spot cleans and then steams the clothing – which she says instantly freshens up the piece.

June even admitted that some of her clothes have never been in the washing machine because they don’t need to be cleaned.

While it’s true that clothes like jeans don’t necessarily need to be washed every time you wear them, Jane’s confession made some viewers uncomfortable.

One wrote: “We can’t smell ourselves like others around us. For that reason alone, I never wear any garment more than once before washing.”

“This is so gross,” commented another.

A third said: “I literally can’t put on clothes that have already been worn. It makes my skin crawl. Sensory issues.”

However, there were many users who agreed with Jane and many claimed it would make your clothes last longer.

“Depends on what the garment is for me…Underwear is one-piece for obvious reasons. Jeans, sweater, worn maybe 3-4 times. Tops 1-2 times max,” commented one.

June agreed, writing, “Absolutely. Underwear, workout clothes, socks and pajamas are definitely washed every day.”

Another said: “Freezer removes odors/kills bacteria!! When I worked in retail, we used to tell customers to freeze their jeans instead of washing them.”

A third wrote: “It ruins clothes so much I remember I had a brand new black top and my mum washed it after wearing it once and it came out faded.”

“You can leave the show. Let’s stop pretending we’re all hygiene queens, it’s okay to be a little cakey at times,” added another user.
