I only realized I was pregnant when I saw two feet in a toilet – I thought it was a stomach ache

A WOMAN has revealed she gave birth after rushing to the toilet thinking she had a stomach ache – and she didn’t even know she was pregnant.

Lucy Jones attributed her mysterious illness to an upset stomach, only to realize she was pregnant after seeing two tiny feet sticking out of the toilet.

The 22-year-old from Bristol said she was shocked as she had none of the typical symptoms, was using birth control and was still having periods throughout her pregnancy.

Lucy, a trainee flight attendant, simply shrugged as she unknowingly went into labor – until her stomach “churned.”

After rushing to the bathroom, she said she “heard a crash” and incredibly found out she’s now a mom.

Despite two negative pregnancy tests and a medical exam eight months into her pregnancy, Lucy had no idea she was about to give birth to a baby girl.

She said: “I had stomach and back pain the night before but I had my period at the end of the week so just blame it.

“I woke up in the morning, had a bath and just thought I’d get a lie-in before returning to Bristol for work.

“I was in bed for about 45 minutes and it felt like my stomach was turning, that’s the only way I can describe it and I just felt like I needed a bowel movement.

“I ran to the toilet and gave birth to my daughter alone in the toilet at home.

“I heard a crack and looked down and there were two feet sticking out of the toilet.

“I wasn’t in pain. Nobody could believe that. I had back and stomach pains, but there wasn’t really any pain when I was physical, which I thought I was squeezing a poo.”

The 22-year-old said that despite the surprise, she loved being a new mom to now four-month-old Ruby.

Ahead of her life-changing bowel movement, Lucy said she lived her normal life and hit the clubs often — even the same week she was born.

She said: “I still did everything – drinking, partying, going to festivals and horse racing.

“I used to go out for a drink two or three times a month.

“When I was pregnant I probably went to clubs 10-15 times. The Saturday before I was born I was in clubs in Bristol.

“If I had been drinking, I would have smoked in company sometimes, but not every time I was drinking. If so, I drank about four cigarettes a month.”

Lucy was home alone at the time and had to urge her parents to rush home after the surprise.

“I screamed hysterically and said ‘There’s a baby’ and they expected there would be a miscarriage, not a fully grown 7 pound baby.

“I was afraid. I didn’t know what hit me. It was just the shock. I felt kind of numb.

“When my parents came through the door it was a little blurry because I think the shock just got the better of me and I don’t remember anything until about 1pm when I was in the hospital.

“Dad was describing the kitchen – it just looked like a crime scene because when I ran from the toilet to the kitchen to get my phone, the cord was broken and blood was pouring out.

“It was the walls, the door, the fridge and the freezer.

“It’s one of those stories you read about, but you never think it would be you, your friend, or someone you know.”
