“I just think the league’s handling of COVID-19 is unprofessional and here we are”: Sixers star Joel Embiid criticizes NBA’s handling of the Covid-19 outbreak in 2021 -22

Sixers superstar, Joel Emiid, appeals to the NBA because it has failed to contain the COVID-19 outbreak among many teams.

As of Wednesday morning, 60 players had participated in the league’s health and safety procedures this season, including 43 in the past two weeks, according to ESPN’s Baxter Holmes.

Several teams are in the midst of an outbreak, including Los Angeles Lakers, brooklyn network, Chicago Bulls, and Charlotte Hornets. The Bulls have seen two games postponed because 10 members of their team are absent due to COVID-19 protocol.

The Nets currently do not have seven players, while the Lakers have five. The Charlotte Hornets and Sacramento Kings there are also five players according to the protocols, while New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks there are four each.

Some of the league’s best players are currently using the COVID-19 protocol, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Russell Westbrook and James Harden. So now it will become a big concern for the league, even though they realize it late, it can still prevent the outbreak.

Joel Embiid criticizes NBA’s management of their most recent COVID-19 outbreak

Although the Philadelphia 76ers only had one player absent due to protocols in Georges Niang, their leader Joel Embiid has spoken out about the league’s mishandling of the entire COVID-19 situation this season.

Few in the league understand the severity of the virus infection more than the Philadelphia giant who has just recovered from COVID-19. And has openly accepted his near-death experience.

While there have been outbreaks on multiple teams now, there haven’t been any delays beyond the Chicago games. The league and the franchise have clearly failed to get the outbreak under control, which they should have made twice easier.

There could be more delays along the way if the NBA continues this way. An increase in tests would certainly help but strict rules similar to last season should be passed if the federation wants to contain the outbreak.
