AFTER losing her husband to a heart attack in February 2020, a woman named Sarah Schellenberger decided to take her life forward in amazing ways.
Although Sarah and her late husband had difficulty conceiving while they were alive, she gave birth to his child after his death.
Scott Shellenberger went through the IVF process with Sarah prior to his death and fathered two viable embryos.
The embryos were then frozen to be preserved and used sometime in the future.
After his death, Sarah moved on with one of the embryos and became pregnant with a baby boy.
Fourteen months after Scott’s untimely death, she gave birth to their son, Hayes.
She revealed that Scott “wanted a family more than anything.”
In her eyes, Hayes is now a “living piece of him.”
She explained, “My husband and I were struggling to get pregnant and wanted a family more than anything.”
Now she has plans to use her second embryo to father another child.
She said, “I hope and pray this transfer is successful and brings our second miracle baby into our family.”
“In our eyes, our embryos are our children and it is only right to do everything we can to bring our second baby home.”
Sarah’s story has inspired many people around the world and her comments section on Instagram reflects that.
On June 19, 2022, she posted a Father’s Day tribute to Scott celebrating his life.
Part of her caption read, “I will tearfully honor you today. I’ll give your boy a million kisses and remind him how much his daddy loves him.”
One thoughtfully commented, “My heart aches a little more for you today. Sending prayers that you will feel Scott’s presence today.”
“There are never words but you really inspire me and so many others,” commented another person.
A third person added: “I’m crying my eyes out but nice post in honor of your husband. Again, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss and what you are going through.”
