I discovered a SECRET WhatsApp modification that allows you to edit sent texts

WHATSAPP is working on a major update that will allow you to edit texts AFTER they’ve been sent.

The shock change was spotted by WhatsApp investigators, who say it’s officially “in development”.

WhatsApp regularly tests new features in the app’s “beta” trial.

And hints of what’s coming next also appear.

Now, WhatsApp investigators from WABetaInfo have found evidence that WhatsApp is adding the ability to edit texts in a future update.

It gives you the ability to correct typos or other errors in a message.

Unfortunately, there are still many unknowns.

We don’t know if recipients will be notified of a change or receive a log of the changes.

It’s also unclear how long you’ll have to process a message – it probably won’t be an infinite timer.

And the biggest unknown is exactly when this feature will be available to the general public.

WhatsApp always competes with its Apple rival iMessage.

And at Apple’s WWDC 2022 event last week, Apple confirmed a huge iMessage update.

The built-in iPhone messenger will soon allow you to send texts – just like WhatsApp.

But it also gets its own text message editor that lets you tweak messages up to 15 minutes after they’ve been sent.

That means iMessage could potentially beat WhatsApp depending on when it launches.

We know that iMessage will have its big change with the iOS 16 update in September.

But you can test it out early when you join the iOS 16 public beta next month.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp superfans can try out new features before anyone else by participating in the chat app’s beta.

To do this, follow our guide below.

How to get WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp Beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m in” button, then tap “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.

Participating in the WhatsApp beta on iOS is more difficult and has a limited capacity.
