SHE went viral earlier this year when her mom shared a video of her crying hysterically while hugging Goofy at Disney World.
And although the clip sparked a wave of criticism from cruel trolls – some insisted Sarah Racul had to “get help” – the 28-year-old insists she’s proud to be a grown Disney fan.
“The reason I think so many people hate Disney adults can be seen in my comments section,” Sarah told Insider.
“People who say, ‘Wow, I wish I could be that happy’.
“We’re so sure of who we are and what we like.
“It upsets people because they want to be that way and they can’t.”
She added that the reason she cried was because her dad’s favorite character was Goofy, so in a way she felt like hugging her dad.
“It was the best character hug I’ve ever received,” she said.
“I know the cast at Disney have also received a lot of hateful comments on my video – like people implying they hate their job – but I just want to thank those who were involved in making it.
“They never made me feel like I didn’t deserve a magical character interaction because I’m an adult.”
Sarah also took the opportunity to slam the people who left cruel comments on the original video.
She uses the experience to speak out about cyberbullying and urged others to do the same.
“I deleted some of the comments,” she said.
“They were downright mean.
“Others were well written but as gruesome as, ‘I urge you to seek therapy for what appears to be a very aggressive mental health issue.'”
Sarah added: “It’s not about me.
“It’s the fact that there are teenagers who feel it’s appropriate to suggest that a stranger see therapy when they don’t know that stranger’s history of mental health.”
