A rapist sexually assaulted a woman four years after his release from prison.
After being sentenced to six years in prison for raping a woman in Hull in 2015, Phillip Weaver struck again this year on New Year’s Day.
This time, the heinous perpetrator also hit his victim with a metal bar, injuring her face.
In a victim statement, the woman said: “If he had hit me in the wrong place, I could have died. It’s hard to wrap my head around it.’
Hull Crown Court heard the 32-year-old was released from prison in 2018.
Back in 2015, he had targeted a woman on a popular bike path near the city center.
Weaver followed her before pulling her off her bike and raping her.
Judge Mark Bury described him as dangerous and aggressive and said he posed a “significant risk of harm” to women.

Detective Annabel Devall of Humberside Police praised the victim’s “courage” and “bravery” she showed during the investigation.
“This dangerous perpetrator caused great physical and mental damage to the victim,” she said.
“I know nothing will take away the suffering Weaver caused the victim, but I hope the outcome in court will give them some closure, knowing that he is now behind bars and can no longer attack anyone. “
Nick Peacock mitigatingly told the court that the defendant initially pleaded not guilty but eventually pleaded guilty before the trial was due to take place in June this year.
Weaver, of Cottingham Road, Hull, on Monday admitted to sexual assault, assault involving actual bodily harm and breaching his sex offender reporting requirements.
He was jailed for five years and also received an extended four-year license that begins after his release.
