Hudson, NH firefighters return salvaged flag to local family – Boston News, Weather, Sports

HUDSON, NH (WHDH) — Firefighters in Hudson, New Hampshire recently returned a salvaged flag to a local family.
Crews were putting out a fire at a family’s home last month and searching the home found an American flag on the floor. A firefighter took charge of cleaning it up and framing it for the family.
The flag ended up having a special meaning for the family as it was on the coffin of a recently deceased family member.
“It’s pretty tough when you don’t have anything,” said fire safety officer Steve Dube. “Having little memorabilia like that makes things a little bit easier.”
The family say they are very grateful that the flag has been returned to them. A family member wrote on social media that the compassion and kindness of the fire service was nothing short of incredible.
