Just because a message is gone doesn’t mean it’s forgotten.
And nowhere is that more true than Apple’s internal messaging system, iMessage.
If you’re a regular user of the Blue Bubble messaging app, now there’s a way to retrieve deleted messages.
Apple introduced the feature last month when iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 rolled out to iPhones and iPads.
The trick only works for messages that have been deleted within 30 days – anything beyond that is lost.
However, if you want to recover a recently deleted message, it’s very simple. Just follow these steps:
Open the Messages application on your iPhone or iPad and tap on the Edit option in the top left corner.
Tap on the “Show Recently Deleted” option. It is accompanied by a trash can logo.
Then select the conversations you want to restore to your inbox. Once you have them selected, tap on the Restore option.
Finally, tap Restore Message or Restore [Number] Messages.
There you have it – you can reclaim the messages as if they were never banned.
