“How about a swap between Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving?”: Jay Williams proposes a trade that would be ideal for both All-Star bodyguards

Former NBA player and ESPN analyst Jay Williams believes the Portland Trail Blazers should trade Damian Lillard for Kyrie Irving.

Blazers point guard Damian Lillard is yet to have its best season to date, averaging 22.0 PPG and shooting 29.7% from the 3-pointer line. The Blazers currently hold the 11-17 record in the west. There have been a lot of rumors surrounding the sale of Lillard lately.

On the other hand, the Nets protect Kyrie Irving Haven’t played a game this season due to New York City’s vaccination policy. The former champion was opposed to vaccination. As a result, ESPN’s Jay Will suggested a trade that could solve problems for both the Nets and the Blazers, respectively.

According to Williams, parting with Lillard will be in the best interests of the Blazers. The superstar hasn’t made it past the grand finale since the moment he joined the franchise. The Blazers tried everything to make things work with the All-Star six times to no avail.

Portland would also be the perfect destination for Irving since it doesn’t have a vaccination mission. However, Irving left things like Kevin Durant and James Harden to play in a smaller market raises a big question.

The trade between these two All-Star bodyguards would be ideal for both parties. However, many people doubt that Irving left Brooklyn to play in a small market like Portland. On the other hand, Lillard has always expressed his loyalty to the Blazers franchise.

Are known, LeBron James and Anthony Davis tried to recruit Lillard for the Lakers throughout the season. However, the Blazers superstar politely declined the offer. Dame-Time has never been a player teaming up with another superstar to win a championship.

During a recent segment on ESPN’s Get Up, Jay Will made an interesting argument for the Blazers to trade Lillard for Irving.

“I really think for Portland, it’s in their best long-term interest to let Lillard go, as he’s asking for a two-year, $107 million extension,” Williams said. “How about a swap there? Dame Kyrie. Kyrie will then be able to play in Portland, and then you’re putting someone like Dame on the same team as Kevin Durant and James Harden. ”

With enhanced shooting for the player, becoming a possibility for the player as time goes on. The New York City government will require Irving to receive three doses of the vaccine. Making it harder for the Nets Guardian to return any time soon.
