Hours-long standoff after Cambridge armed attack ends with arrest – Boston News, Weather, Sports

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. (WHDH) –
After a two-hour lull in Cambridge on Tuesday night, local police said the problem had been safely resolved.

Earlier in the evening, police reported an active standoff on Gore Street. A man had barricaded himself inside a house after an armed attack, officials said. They were able to enter the home and arrest the suspect before taking the man to the hospital for a drug and alcohol investigation.

The victim was reportedly safe and not barricaded in the home with the suspect.

Neighbors told 7NEWS they have been told by police to evacuate their homes should the standoff between police and the suspect escalate. People have also been urged to avoid the area.
