Hilarious airport worker lays down the law in viral TikTok

Due to a shortage of pilots and canceled flights, there is currently quite a bit of chaos at airports. So it’s no surprise that airport workers are feeling tired and overworked — with one Southwest employee going viral on TikTok thanks to her incredibly impatient speaking to customers.

The original clip, posted by TikToker @kterrell27, shows the Southwest rep explaining excess baggage fees, then adding, “Anybody don’t get it? Talk to each other and explain because I won’t explain it again.” This incredible speech ends with her saying, “Any problems? Pray about it. It will work.”

The comments section was full of praise for this airport employee, praising her no-nonsense attitude with responses like “We need her in Congress” and “She was hired specifically to take care of Karen’s.” It might not be textbook customer service, but it is definitely funny.

TikTok, released on June 2, went viral with 1.7 million views – but by then you may have heard the same audio elsewhere. People are using @kterrell27’s Southwest Airlines monologue as a soundtrack for their own chaotic airport experiences, including news anchor and TikToker @maurielletv, who reposted the audio as if it came from a Spirit employee.

With @maurielletv’s TikTok now having 1.6 million views and responding as if listening to the speech IRL, many viewers assumed it was her original content. “Spirit?” one commenter asked, and @maurielletv replied, “You know” – implying that @kterrell27’s content was his own.

It makes perfect sense that this audio would take off the way it did. It adds a touch of humanity to the awkward experience of queuing at the airport, and if you’ve ever had a customer service job, you’ve probably wished you could indulge in a similarly impatient speech.

With airports being unusually chaotic these days, many people are creating frustrated airport TikToks, leading to @kterrell27’s audio being credited to other places like Orlando and Norfolk as well.
