“Healthy Stephen Curry Is Still The Best NBA Player!”: Warriors MVP Head and Donovan Mitchell Aren’t. 1 and 2 in NBA net rating

Warriors superstars Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala lead the league in Net Ratings, leading the team to a league-best record.

The Golden State Warriors faced a catastrophic loss in the 2020-21 season play-in. However, the Warriors made little or no change in the team’s core players.

As a result, media analysts assume that the Warriors have no chance of making it to the playoffs in the 2021-22 season. ESPN and FiveThirtyEight predict 48 and 37 wins for the team, respectively.

The Warriors, led by Stephen Curry, have started the season breaking all expectations. They currently hold the best league record with 23 wins and just 5 losses. However, one of the key reasons behind the team’s success was the re-signing of Andre Iguodala.

The former All-Star star played brilliantly when he came off the bench for the Dubs. While he’s only averaged 3.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists, his contribution exceeds traditional stats.

The duo Curry and Iguodala are currently leading the tournament in Net Rating. The actual rating is the offensive rating minus the defensive rating. In simpler words, it can be defined as how much better or worse the team is when a particular player is on the field.

Stephen Curry and Donovan Mitchell are the most influential players of the 2021-22 NBA season

Andre Igoudala holds the top position of Net Rating with 16.9 points. However, Stephen Curry holds the top spot with a score of 16.5, followed by Donovan Mitchell with a score of 14.5 with the tournament minimal statistical filter.

Stephen Curry is averaging 27 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. The 2-time champion has an attack stat of 114.2 and a personal best defense of 97.7. While Steph is better known for his offensive abilities, it is his defensive presence that makes all the difference.

Donovan Mitchell is averaging 25 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5 assists per game. The two-time All-Star has an all-team offensive stat of 120.6 and a defensive stat of 106. Riding on Spida matches, the Jazz have the third-best record in the league. With 20 wins and only 7 losses, they are only 2.5 matches behind the top of the WCF table.

It’s no surprise that the teams led by the two most influential players are ranking high in the Western Conference rankings. While much of the season is yet to come, the Warriors and Jazz are strong contenders to end the season with the best of the league.
