Harry Styles has canceled his concert in Copenhagen tonight after a fatal shooting at a nearby shopping centre, Metro.co.uk understands.

The former One Direction star, 28, was due to perform as part of his much-anticipated Love On Tour shows at the Royal Arena on Sunday night.

On Sunday afternoon, Danish police responded to a shooting at the Field shopping mall, less than a mile from the arena, which is on the southern outskirts of the city.

Several people were killed and others injured, police said, while a 22-year-old Dane was arrested after being arrested near the site.

Harry’s concert, which should have taken place at 8 p.m., was initially postponed by an hour but has now been cancelled.

“I am heartbroken along with the people of Copenhagen,” he said. “I love this city. The people are so warm and full of love.

“I am devastated for the victims, their families and everyone who is injured. I’m sorry we couldn’t be together. Please take care of each other. ‘

Concert promoter Live Nation said in a statement: “Tonight’s concert with Harry Styles has been canceled on the instructions of the Danish police.

“We are all truly devastated by today’s events and our thoughts are with the victims and their families. We are evaluating future possibilities for the show and hope to be able to provide direct information to ticket buyers as soon as possible.’

Acts such as Pearl Jam and Queen + Adam Lambert will also be performing at the venue in the coming weeks.

Harry was set to take his 2020 Love On Tour show around the world before the pandemic brought the live music industry to a halt.

The rescheduled tour kicked off in Las Vegas in September 2021 before heading across the US, with the European tour kicking off in Glasgow last month.

Harry’s latest album, Harry’s House, has been very positively received by critics and the lead single As It Was recently reached its 10th week at number one in the UK.
