Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart’s relationship timeline
A real life meeting. Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart‘s first encounter was straight out of a rom-com – albeit one set on the Hollywood A-list.
That war of stars actor and the Ally McBeal Alum first met at the 2002 Golden Globe Awards. At the time, reports were circulating that Flockhart got her future husband’s attention by deliberately spilling a drink on him, but the Emmy nominee later said that wasn’t the case.
“We talked maybe 20 minutes before the wine spilled, and the truth is, Harrison spilled the wine!” Flockhart recounted Hello! magazine in June 2003.
In the same interview that witness star gushed about his romance with Flockhart, who is 22 years his junior. “I’m in love,” Ford told the outlet. “Romantic love is one of the most exciting and fulfilling types of love, and I think there is potential for it at every stage of life. I wasn’t surprised that I was able to fall in love, and I wasn’t surprised that I did.”
For her part, Flockhart said the couple’s age difference isn’t something she’s given much thought to. “It doesn’t scare me,” she explained. “It doesn’t play a role in our relationship at all. I like how he looks first thing in the morning. It’s not pretty, it’s cuter. He looks like a little boy.”
The pilot proposed to Flockhart in February 2009 after a seven-year relationship, and the duo wed the following year at a ceremony at the Governor’s Mansion in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Ford also adopted Flockhart’s son, Liam, who was born in 2001.
The couple has kept details about their relationship relatively private over the years, but they occasionally share funny stories about each other. In 2015, Flockhart revealed that Ford “learned how to text” at age 73, but he didn’t fully grasp the concept of emojis. “He’s like, ‘Where did you get that picture from?'” super girl Alum spoke up during a performance Jimmy Kimmel Live! “It is very bad.”

He and Marquardt are parents to sons Ben (born 1966) and Willard (born 1969). The action star and Mathison, who died in 2015, shared son Malcolm (born 1987) and daughter Georgia (born 1990).

Ford, an avid pilot, made an emergency landing in Venice, California, due to a mechanical problem. That Indiana Jones Star suffered a fractured pelvis and ankle in the accident. “It’s been a really tough, scary time for our family,” Flockhart told reporters five months after the incident. “I think it makes you realize once again that life can revolve around a dime. We just have to cherish every second we’re here because you never know.”
