Gwyneth Paltrow celebrates her early 50th birthday with a bikini pic

Gwyneth Paltrow shows some love! The actress shared a stunning bikini photo and spoke about aging ahead of her upcoming milestone birthday.

In a photo posted via Instagram on Thursday, September 23 sliding doors The 49-year-old actress leaps into the air while rocking a thong swimsuit. “Reflecting on a milestone,” she captioned the post, directing her followers to an essay she published on her lifestyle website, Goop.

“I’ll be 50 on September 27th,” Paltrow began in the article. “As I sit here on a late summer morning and contemplate this idea, no humidity in the air, a breeze just moving the treetops, I have strangely no sense of the passage of time.”

The California native expressed that while she understands that getting older can be daunting, life “seems to be getting sweeter” for her.

“I understand on some level that life is linear, that I’ve lived x number of days so far and I have more in the basket under my arm than in the field in front of me. But there is something about the sweetness of life that exists deep within me that is unchanged, that will not change,” she wrote.

Paltrow went on to laud her body as “a map of the evidence of all days.” She continued: “[My body is] a collection of marks and irregularities that dog-eared the chapters. Scars from burns, a finger smashed in a window long ago, the birth of a child. Silver hair and fine lines.” (The Oscar-winner shares daughter Apple, 18, and son Moses, 16, with ex-husband Chris Martin. The former couple divorced in 2016. Paltrow married the television director Brad Falluk in 2018.)

That iron man The actress expressed that she does everything she can to “strive for good health and longevity,” but ultimately embraces the changes in her.

“I accept,” she wrote. “I accept the spots and the loosening of the skin, the wrinkles. I accept my body and let go of the need to be perfect, to look perfect, to defy gravity, to defy logic, to defy humanity. I accept my humanity.”

As she steps into a new chapter, Paltrow also shared what she “would like to do with the rest of my time here.”

She revealed that she hopes to “slow down” and “make my circle smaller.” Paltrow also shared that she “wants to cook more dinners…I want misunderstanding to become understanding…I want to continue to open the deepest part of myself to my husband, even if it scares me.”
