Guest orders Extra Well Done steak, complains about overcooked steak

A manager who says she’s been in charge of various restaurants over the past 13 years shared the group of guests who complains the most: men.

User Kellie (@ambryrae) shared a story about a man who came in recently, while also clarifying that dealing with customers is her favorite part of the job as there’s not much in a restaurant “that you really can’t fix.” can”.

“It’s like they’re always trying to prove their manhood [sic] when they complain about something,” she says.

Kellie says that the man who came in with a young woman had already caused the hostess grief when choosing a table. When she was seated, she said, he ordered an extra well-done filet mignon, and when the plate arrived the waiter called Kellie to the table.

“I can’t eat this because it’s so overcooked,” she says, he told her, after which the manager offered to re-cook the fillet for him at a different temperature.

Kellie says he reordered the same fillet but asked for it to be cooked medium.

“So in my head, I’m like you can’t go from particularly well done to frigging medium like you wouldn’t like that, but I’ll put it in … whatever,” she says.

After Kellie received his second steak, she was called out again as the man “huffed and puffed” and then allegedly pulled a token from his pocket to slam it on the table, leading her to believe he was a cop was.

“In my head, I think you’re the one who needs to be arrested for that extra well-done fillet, but I digress,” she jokes.

Kellie claims this time the man complained his steak was pink in the middle and accused her of serving him raw food. He also reportedly noticed that his margarita was too watery.

“I’m just put off by it… It must have been sitting over there for a while and the lady behind me won’t stop coughing,” he reportedly told TikToker.

Kellie says she then got the bartender to add more tequila to his drink and take it off his bill, which apparently fixed the problem. The man is said to have then asked if something could be done about the woman coughing behind him.

“I said, ‘Unfortunately, I can’t give you a discount for someone who has a cough because coughs existed before the pandemic,'” she claims, telling him before offering to give him a take-out menu if he would rather not eat in public.

The man told her that the restaurant probably won’t see him again because of the bad service and environment.

“Sir, if God is on my side, we won’t do this,” she jokes. “As if that wasn’t a threat. What the hell? Like ordering an extra well-done steak and then complaining it’s overcooked.”

She closes her clip by saying, “People who go out and become obnoxious servers for no reason… deserve a special place in Hell.”
