Guernsey: Heroes lift Toyota to free woman trapped underneath

Quick-thinking locals stepped in to help a woman trapped under the wheels of a 950kg Toyota Aygo.
The victim was heard screaming as she stumbled over a chain link fence into traffic in Guernsey.
Passers-by rushed to push the car on Monday afternoon.
They made every effort to raise it when Nocq Road came to a standstill in St Sampson.
The heavy vehicle was stopped on one side before rescue workers arrived at the scene of the accident.
The woman’s injuries are said to be non-life threatening after the frightening incident.
A group of men from the local shop, AJ Electrical, reportedly jumped out of their van after hearing screams and seeing the incident in their mirrors.
A viewer praised her actions, calling them “amazing.”
“I was there and you guys just kept the car waiting forever,” she wrote on Facebook. ‘You really were her knights in shining armor, honestly.’
Guernsey Police also posted on social media to thank everyone who helped.
“We would like to thank all members of the public who came to help with this morning’s RTC on the bridge,” it said.
“They helped lift the affected vehicle before first responders arrived and then continued to help once emergency services were on the scene.
“It always reflects well on our community when we come together to help one another.”
