A young woman has been rescued from a hostage situation after she sent a note to call the police in her Grubhub delivery order.

In what appeared to be a frantic message sent to a nearby restaurant, the 24-year-old victim asked the company to discreetly alert authorities that she was in danger.

“Please call the police, he will call me when you are delivered with the cones. Please don’t make it obvious,” the woman wrote in the Additional Instructions section as she placed an order at The Chipper Truck Café, a restaurant in Yonkers, a suburb north of New York City.

Restaurant employees received the alarming order around 5 a.m. Sunday morning and called the police, restaurant owner Alice Bermejo told CBS 2.

The 24-year-old woman who left the note was reportedly raped with a knife by a man she met through a dating app, police said.

Officers responded to the address after receiving the 911 call and arrested the man.

The cafe’s workers didn’t know what had happened until the next day, when a woman called the restaurant and thanked them for their help.

“I’ve heard about it a lot, but I never thought it would happen to us. Luckily we were open and able to help her,” the cafe said in a Facebook post.

Shortly after the order was placed, a 32-year-old man was arrested for kidnapping

“A big thank you to the police for their quick response,” the owners added in the post.

The New York City Police Department arrested 32-year-old Kemoy Royal around 6:20 a.m. Sunday. He was charged with rape, strangulation, criminal sex act, unlawful detention, threats, assault, criminal possession of weapons and sexual abuse.

Royal was also accused of another rape on June 15, police said.

In an announcement Wednesday, Grubhub said it would give the cafe $5,000 for its “simple but extraordinary” help during a crisis.
