Two other people saw what was happening and tried to help Mancilla: Video footage shows a man running toward the scene of the crime but unable to stop the suspect from stealing the truck. Mancilla wasn’t even aware that anyone was there. “His eyes were full of blood, he couldn’t see anyone” Mancilla’s son said KHOU11. The suspect fended off the people helping, almost running them over in the process.

Mancilla was taken to the hospital for his injuries and eventually required multiple stitches. He admits the incident was scary but says he can’t just stand by and do nothing. “Well, yes, but I have no choice,” he said. The suspect and the truck have still not been found.
