Grammy-nominated music producer Tommy Brown talks Spotify’s new frequency platform + more


This week on Hip Hop and Enterprise we Yes honored to speak with outstanding producer, ASCAP award winner and Grammy Award nominee, Tommy Brown (TBHits).

Brown has been behind some of mainstream pop’s biggest hits, including producing for the likes of Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Normani, Megan Thee Stallion, and many more.

Be an ambassador for Spotify’s New A background in frequencies, Brown is helping to pave the way for a new generation of musical creators. In our discussion, Brown explains his journey to signing with a record label, the music production business, and the qualities needed to achieve mainstream success in music.

The Pittsburgh native recalls graduating from high school a year late and moving to Atlanta, where he used to burn 50 CDs a day and drop them off in the parking lot after finishing his shift at Sears. Through his faith, constant training and passion for music, Brown competed with the likes of Darkchild by Rodney Jerkins and other music producers in his youth.

Early in her career, Brown created records for the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Wyclef Jean and The Black Eyed Peas on their song “Just Can’t Get Enough”.

He explains whether music ads need support from a major label to break into the industry. The “Thank U, Next” hitmaker also talks about how he helps develop new and existing artists through Spotify’s new endeavors as well as in his personal life.

Having produced for some of today’s biggest pop stars, Brown acknowledges the artists he dreams of working with and he’s looking to continue to pave the way for commercials for the foreseeable future. Using her social media to spread the word follow your dreams and never give up, the millennial music producer has gone deep into promoting Spotify’s Frequency platform.
