Google Maps directs customers to Starbucks at Disney headquarters

Map apps like Google Maps are now invaluable for navigation. Not only that, but they can also easily help users find destinations around them that they want to visit, such as: B. local attractions or cafes.

However, these destinations may not be as easily accessible as they appear on the map, as TikTok user @jennaraychaneltrauma recently learned.

In a video with over 499,000 views, the TikToker shares his recent experience trying to follow the navigation to a local Starbucks. As it turned out, the store was actually located at Disney headquarters.

“That’s stupid and not important at all, but Starbucks needs to better identify which of their stores are drive-thrus.” [and] which of them are literally at Disney headquarters,” they say, panning the camera to reveal Disney headquarters.

As TikToker notes, this makes Starbucks inaccessible to the majority of users.

“It’s like, ‘Go to this Starbucks,'” says the TikToker, referring to Google Maps. “Yeah, I’ll go, like, slip into Disney and sit on Bob Iger’s lap and order a Starbucks… That’s not available to me.”

According to TikTokers, this is a fairly common problem.

“The number of times it asks me to go to the AIRPORT is ridiculous,” wrote one user.

“There was one in my office building that people were always trying to get into,” recalled another.

“I’m embarrassed by the number of times I’ve ended up in a target,” said a third. “I wanted to go there at some point, but that wasn’t the original plan.”

“My GPS once tried to take me to a hospital,” another TikToker claimed.

Other users have joked about similarly inaccessible restaurants, like the Pentagon’s Taco Bell or the many fast-food restaurants that populate US military bases.

Solving this problem should be easy, several users joked.

As one user put it, “The way these phones eavesdrop on our conversations and track everything we do, it really should know by now that I don’t feel like walking into a Krogers.”
