Gnangara shooting: Joseph Raimondi, a member of the rebel bikie gang, was seen at the scene where Joe Versace was shot

Rebel biker Joseph Raimondi, spotted at the scene of a fatal shooting in Gnangara, was the best friend and fitness pal of slain biker gang boss Nick Martin.

The 34-year-old father of two was pictured with a visibly distraught woman and a young girl on Thursday night after police blocked Sydney Street to investigate the alleged murder.

It was revealed that Raimondi was Martin’s “best friend” during one of Martin’s court hearings in 2020, shortly before the rebel boss was murdered at the Perth Motorplex in December 2020.

Martin was released on bail in April 2020 after being charged in connection with an alleged money laundering and extortion racket.

Part of his bail conditions included that he was not associated with motorcycles.

During the hearing on the motion to have Martin’s bail revoked, prosecutors said he violated those terms by going to the gym and running with Mr Raimondi.

The court heard officials having an “intelligence call” with Mr Raimondi, during which he allegedly told them he was still “a candidate and had not decided which path he would take”.

At the time, Martin’s lawyer, Michael Tudori, argued that Mr Raimondi was not a member of the rebels or a candidate.

He told the court Mr Martin did in fact save Mr Raimondi from drug addiction and was someone he regularly “goes fishing” with.

On Thursday night, Raimondi was pictured brazenly showing off his rebel gang tattoos, despite WA’s strict new laws banning any display of gang colors.

In August, a court heard that Raimondi was found in possession of 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a gel blaster pistol and a switchblade, as well as drug paraphernalia, after police searched the 34-year-old’s home in June.

Among the drugs seized were a small quantity of methamphetamine, less than a gram of cocaine, cannabis, vials of steroids, a number of Viagra pills and another prescription drug used to stabilize seizures.

During the hearing, Raimondi also pleaded guilty to an incident that took place in South Guildford earlier this year.

The bike, along with two employees, entered the premises of Rent WA – a commercial truck rental company – at around 00:52 on May 27.

The trio drove in on electric motorcycles wearing face masks and gloves. Raimondi was caught by CCTV on a roller gate but did not go inside.

In sentencing Raimondi, Ms Harries said she accepts that the drugs found in his possession, mainly the methamphetamine, were for personal use and added she would sentence him on that basis.

She fined him $3,500 for drug possession, $1,000 for gun charges, $1,000 for possession of unlicensed ammunition, $500 for trespassing, and ordered him to pay $134.50 in court costs.
