After keeping his mother and sister safe in Season 2, Tariq St. Patrick finds himself at a crossroads: he wants to get his inheritance and family back, but is drawn even deeper into the drug business. And when it comes down to it, Monet must choose between the condition of her remaining family and her own penchant for revenge, or somehow find a way to have both.
Cooper SaxeShane Johnson
After Cooper Saxe decides to join Jenny Sullivan as her criminal informant, he does whatever it takes to obtain evidence pointing to Davis MacLean’s involvement in Tariq and the Tejada’s illegal dealings while working as a double agent in Davis’ office. Saxe’s intentions are both personal and professional: he wants to get back into a romantic relationship with Jenny, chilling him until he gets her information, and he wants to finally send Tariq to prison. Saxe presents the perfect opportunity to get closer and gather information when Davis enlists him to secure the release of Theo Rollins, Davis’ wrongly convicted brother.

As the two grow closer and bond over their roles in their respective family businesses, Gordo encourages Dru to show his family that he should be the one to take the Tejada throne. Dru believes he’s finally found someone who truly understands him, but the double-dealing relationship between their families is taking a toll on their budding romance.

As they rekindle their romance, the troubles of their past are renewed as Bennet realizes their differences in politics and ethical boundaries still exist. Bennet hopes she can push Tate to become a better man and embark on a path of integrity as he pursues the Democratic nomination.
Davis Maclean (Cliff “Method Man” Smith)

Davis MacLean is in the thick of it when he’s forced to help Tariq after Noma, Mecca’s supplier, hires him to ship their product. Davis provides legal advice to Monet while the Fed investigates her over Carrie Milgram’s death and helps her find Zeke’s killer. In the midst of all this, Davis tries to get his dying brother Theo Rollins out of prison with the help of Cooper Saxe… but the pressure on Davis may have inadvertently caused him to put his trust in the wrong person.
Diana Tejada (LaToya Tonodeo)

Diana Tejada goes into season 3 with Monet for revealing Zeke’s true parentage. When Lorenzo finally offers her the chance, Diana eagerly transfers to Stansfield. But college life isn’t easy; Forced to work to pay for books, Diana is quickly brought back into business selling produce. Diana longs for freedom from life, but finds it difficult to completely sever ties with her family.
Lucas Weston (David Walton)
Like his nephew Brayden, Lucas Weston is considered the black sheep of the family. However, his success in growing Weston’s fortune as investment manager of Weston Holdings is unquestionable. But now Lucas is hired by his older brother Robert to keep an eye on Brayden after he was sentenced to “hard labor” at the fund for his CourseCorrect confession and defiling his family name. Always ready to attack the family and his older brother, Lucas happily brings in Tariq as an intern when Brayden pitches the idea. Lucas Weston’s loose morals and the extent to which he would go to acquire wealth come into focus when he begins raising his hand at a meeting to solicit the wealth of black billionaire Ron Samuel Jenkins for the fund .
Rashad Tate Larenz Tate
Rashad Tate is no stranger to shady dealings — and his bid for a Senate seat is no different. Tate walks the fine line between moral and immoral in the donor and campaign boost market… legal and illegal. He also knows that it wouldn’t hurt him to earn another victory on his way to the Senate: a wife. And as he rekindles a relationship with his old flame, Professor Harper Bennet, Tate considers changing ethics for the better in order to win her and the election…though it may not be as real as it seems.
Additional cast
Gbenga Akinnagbe will play Ron Samuel Jenkins aka RSJ, a Howard University and Harvard Business School graduate who grew up in the working class and built his own legitimate empire that has firmly entrenched him in the business elite.
Kyle Vincent Terry will portray Obi, a British-educated young man who is skilled with guns but also comfortable in a boardroom.
Caroline Chikezie will portray Noma, a worldly and powerful woman with a regal presence who has built her wealth with an illegal global empire and is not afraid to protect it by any means necessary.
