Georgia: Man shoots mother, grandma, McDonald’s manager and himself | US News

A man fatally shot his mother, grandmother and the manager of a McDonald’s where he worked before turning the gun on himself.
The mass shooter killed his 50-year-old mother and 74-year-old grandmother in two neighboring houses in rural South Georgia on Thursday. He then killed a 41-year-old woman who was the manager of a McDonald’s in downtown Moultrie, according to Colquitt County Coroner Verlyn Brock.
All three women appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
‘I can’t figure out what provoked him so badly,’ Brock said.
The identities of the victims were not immediately released pending notification of their family members.
McDonald’s confirmed that the woman who was shot was a manager, but did not reveal her identity. It was not initially known whether the shooter and the manager knew each other.
Witnesses said the manager worked the morning shift and the shooter worked at the same McDonald’s, the Daily Mail reported.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is taking charge of the investigation. The agency only announced on Thursday evening that there had been “several fatalities” in different places.
“We are working to gather more information and locate more witnesses,” said Jamy Steinberg, the GBI’s lead special agent.
