Princess Charlotte and Prince George looked particularly chic as they joined parents William and Kate for tonight’s party at the palace.

There was great cheering from the Cambridges, who arrived for the star-studded show, which featured performances by the likes of Elton John, Diana Ross and Queen.

Charlotte, seven, wore a red dress and waved a Union Flag, while George, eight, was fully dressed and booted.

Some on social media commented on how adorable they both looked, while others questioned why they weren’t allowed to “dress like kids” – even if they were royals.

Kate wore a sleek all-white ensemble while William donned a blue suit as the family clapped from the royal box.

The Queen, 96, will not be attending tonight’s celebrations as she has dropped out of some Platinum Jubilee events due to her ongoing mobility issues.

But she opened the night in style nonetheless – starring in a pre-taped skit with none other than Paddington Bear.

Both William and Charge will make separate speeches to the crowd of 22,000 tonight in honor of Her Majesty, who is celebrating her 70th year on the throne.

Queen, whose guitarist Brian May performed at the last Buckingham Palace rooftop party in 2002, will be joined by singer Adam Lambert, while Eurovision star Sam Ryder will also take the stage.

Sir Elton John appears in a recorded performance and live performances have also been given by Alicia Keys, Nile Rodgers, Andrea Bocelli, Duran Duran, Hans Zimmer, Ella Eyre, Craig David, Mabel and Elbow.

Well-known British names such as Sir David Attenborough, David Beckham, Stephen Fry and US Open winner Emma Raducanu are also celebrating the historic occasion.
