The second season of Days of our Lives hit spin-off Beyond Salem will feature a familiar face from General Hospital. Steve Burton joined the show a week after the news broke. Peacock has ordered another season of the spin-off.

months after Steve was discharged from General Hospital and the role of Jason Morgan due to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate brings the actor back to the day. There was speculation that Steve would return to GH once the mandate was lifted, but that has yet to be proven.

Instead, the talented actor returns to the Days family, which is where he happened to start his soap opera.

Who will play General Hospital graduate Steve Burton in Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem?

Soap Opera Digest was the first to break the news that Peacock has confirmed that Steve will appear in season 2 of the limited series Beyond Salem. The big news comes on the heels of the announcement that Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso will be reprising their roles as legendary supercouple Bo and Hope Brady.

There is no official word on who Steve will play against Days of our lives beyond Salem. However, as mentioned above, he played Harris Michaels in the 1988 daytime drama. He collaborated with General Hospital co-star and on-screen brother Billy Warlock (Frankie).

Steve’s stint on Days was only intended for a handful of episodes, but it ended up being a few months for him. Since Harris didn’t play a central role in the hit NBC soap opera, chances are Steve will bring a new character to Beyond Salem.

The actor is yet to comment on his new role, but Steve has been very open about his career on social media.

Also, Steve has a podcast with his GH co-star and friend Bradford Anderson, That’s great. Fans of GH and Days can expect to hear more from Steve about his involvement with Beyond Salem on his podcast once the series reaches Peacock.

What else do we know about Beyond Salem?

Beyond Salem takes viewers on another globetrotting adventure that connects them to a decades-old storyline.

Bo and Hope are joined by Tripp (Lucas Adams), Gabi (Camila Banus), Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), Marlena (Deidre Hall), Li Shin (Remington Hoffman), John (Drake Hogestyn), Ciara (Victoria Konefal), Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) on the new adventure. All of them, plus whoever Steve plays on the show.

The waiting time won’t be long either. Beyond Salem Season 2 premieres on Peacock on July 11th and runs through July 15th. As with Season 1, the spin-off will not affect the Days mothership show at all.

Could this mean that Steve is making a permanent move to days of our lives?

Only time will tell, but it’s a real possibility that won’t exist General Hospital fans happy.
