A pervert who secretly spied on a woman using the toilet and children getting dressed has been arrested.

Adam Ward, 30, was caught when his hideous collection of photos and videos were discovered on several of his computers.

He had installed cameras on the ceilings of bathrooms and dressing rooms at Sage Gateshead to create the disgusting content.

Footage from the cultural center was just some of the more than 22,000 indecent images of children with babies as young as six months old.

Ward had taken some of the horrific photos himself and even filmed his own sexual assault of a young child, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

His defense attorney said: “He has expressed remorse despite evidence of a lack of victim empathy. He’s intelligent and had a good job.’

The court also heard how Ward has complex mental health issues.

Judge Julie Clemitson said Ward was a dangerous offender who posed a “high risk of causing serious harm.”

He was sentenced to four years and four months behind bars with a five year and eight month extended license term.

Detective Constable Elizabeth Biggins said: “This was a long and thorough investigation by our team to ensure success in court and involved months of electronic searches.

“Ward’s actions are despicable, but we were able to strike and secure
the evidence needed for a conviction.

“I want to thank the families involved for their support and resilience
and patience during the investigation.

“I hope this sends a clear message to potential offenders other than ours
