Gary Pallister urges Man Utd to complete Christian Eriksen signing and Frenkie de Jong deal | Soccer

United are understood to have offered Eriksen a deal, who will become a free agent at the end of the month after a six-month stint at Brentford.
With Tottenham stepping back from a deal to sign the Denmark international to focus on other deals, United hope to persuade him to join them despite not being able to offer Champions League football next season.
While Pallister believes Erik ten Hag could potentially have a job in hand to place both Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes in the same side, he believes United desperately need proven quality in the squad and is keen for his former side to match the deal closes .
“I think that’s a no-brainer if they can get their hands on him,” Pallister said Metro.co.uk on behalf of Bookies Bonuses when discussing a move for Eriksen.
“Hopefully all of his medical issues have been resolved. We saw in his role for Brentford last season that he still has amazing skills and on a free transfer that’s a no-brainer.
“You wonder how it would work with Bruno Fernandes at the club, but that’s up to Erik ten Hag (to sort). But I don’t think you can ever have too many good players in a team.
“It gives you options, helps with injuries if that becomes a problem and if you have someone with Eriksen’s class… I’d also like to see that deal go through.”
Erik ten Hag is keen to rebuild United’s midfield this summer with Dutch star de Jong his number one target. The Premier League side continue to negotiate a fee with Barcelona after an opening offer of €60m was rejected while the Catalan giants offered €85m.
While there is still work to be done to complete the deal, Pallister is confident De Jong has the ability and experience to “play in the spotlight” to revitalize United’s soft midfield.
“Barcelona know how desperate United are trying to sign players,” said Pallister. “They will push to the nth degree to get as much money as possible and that is when United come knocking.
“They are still considered one of the richest clubs in the world. Hopefully they can seal that deal, de Jong is the right age, has a lot of experience and is the type of player who can really express himself in a place like United.
“He’s used to the pressure and the limelight, having been in Barcelona, so he would certainly tick a box. Midfield was an area of concern.’
