Fuel prices are so high that the AA is telling drivers to GO to save money

Fuel prices have gotten so high that even the AA is advising drivers to walk instead.
The Automobile Association suggested cutting shorter journeys and “walking or cycling to save money”.

Yesterday the average price of petrol hit a new high of 183.2 pa liters – after increases of 7.3 pa liters in seven days.
Some petrol stations in London charge almost £2.50.
The AA said a fifth of members are already using their cars less.
President Edmund King added: “This is the worst week of pump pain for drivers yet.
“These crippling fuel costs are making themselves felt, so drivers must take every possible step to stay mobile.”
Meanwhile, the top Tories were pressuring Chancellor Rishi Sunak to cut the fuel tax again – just three months after he cut it by 5p.
Schools Minister Robin Walker said there was a “strong case” after the first cut had already been “more than offset”.
He added: “The Chancellor will have to continue to examine all the tools at his disposal to try to keep these costs down.”
Former Cabinet Secretary John Redwood tweeted: “Much support for an urgent reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel.
“The chancellor needs to limit the amount he takes from us at the pumps.
“How much more inflation does he want? How much is income being squeezed?”
Ministers have threatened to name and shame retailers who fail to pass on March’s cut.
The market regulator could launch an investigation.
And Transport Secretary Grant Shapps is pushing for a pumpwatch regulator to prevent hard-pressed motorists from being ripped off.
Last night, No 10 said: “We will continue to do everything we can to try to support households at what is a very difficult time for many people.
“The Chancellor and the Treasury will keep an eye on taxes.”
