From rugs to light fixtures to plants, Earthshot Awards focused on reusability – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOSTON (WHDH) – The Earthshot Awards have made a point of showcasing the use of recyclable materials, reusable items and cutting-edge energy use when the royal couple presents the annual award.

Prince William and Princess Catherine arrived at the awards ceremonies in Boston in electric vehicles, Catherine wore a rented dress with a donated necklace, and the entertainers will even wear vegan makeup.

No detail has been left out to ensure everything is green and sustainable.

The green carpet will be recycled after the ceremony, the lighting fixtures have been upgraded to battery-powered LED lighting, and the three acres of locally grown crops are expected to be planted across the city.

Single-use plastics were excluded from the ceremony, the set consisted of items that could be recycled and reused, and nothing new was purchased for production.
