French politician’s erotic novel mocked for its horrifying sex scenes | world news

A raunchy sex scene in the The French finance minister’s new book has left red-faced critics who are already angered by Emmanuel Macron’s pension reform.
For Bruno Le Maire, everyone needs a hobby in life.
“Some people go to museums, cinemas, concert halls, soccer stadiums. Others garden or go hiking,” Le Maire said on Twitter on April 27, a day after the release of his new book.
‘As for me, I write.’
But it’s what Le Maire wrote in Fugue Américaine that curls toes, raises eyebrows and takes the breath away from French officials and voters.
Or as France’s Huffington Post put it: “Bruno Le Maire wrote about an anus and nobody was ready for it.”
The Economy and Finance Minister’s book is about Vladimir Horowitz, an eccentric pianist who wowed audiences for six decades before his death in 1989. France Info, the country’s public broadcaster, reported.
It is told through the story of brothers Franz and Oskar Wertheimer, who went to Cuba from New York in 1949 to see Horowitz perform.
But as an aside, Oskar has sex with a woman named Julia and, well, it’s detailed to say the least.
“She turned her back on me; she threw herself on the bed; she showed me the brown bulge of her anus,” Le Marie wrote.
‘Are you coming Oscar? I’ve never been so wide.”
“As she said these words, she had the face of an angel; when she was mad with love, I was in ecstasy. For the young student, whose sexual experience had previously been limited to sober figures performed quickly in the dark, Julia was a revelation; she was the light, she was the life.’
“I’ve never been this far” has since become a cheeky rallying cry for workers who continue to simmer with anger to protest Macron’s controversial pension reform.
Now, May Day signs and graffiti bore Le Marie’s bold words as millions of workers marched on.
The passage went down as well on Twitter as one would expect.
“URGENT: The government announces the establishment of a psychological unit (accessible via a toll-free number) for anyone who accidentally stumbled upon Bruno Le Maire’s erotic texts,” tweeted Olivier Varlan, a high school teacher based in Northern Norway. Pas de Calais.
While Paris-based photographer Margal said the minister’s book shows he has “too much free time, overconfidence to the point of ridiculousness, a restless and bad pen, a superficial and boring sexuality, and abject sensory poverty.”
“I didn’t sleep all night, as soon as I closed my eyes I was faced with a large neon sign that said ‘brown bulge of her anus,'” replied another user.
While lecturer Laélia Véron sarcastically said she was “surprised” that the The American rating agency Fitch downgraded France’s debt rating just a few hours before the minister’s book was published.
Fitch has downgraded France’s credit rating to AA- from AA amid political deadlocks, social upheaval and stubborn inflation, the agency said.
As one user put it: “A pack of pasta costs €2.30, but Bruno Le Maire has time to write about the ‘brown bump’.”
Le Marie, whose Fugue Américaine is his 13th book, also managed to stir up opposition politicians – though perhaps not in the way he had hoped.
Francois Ruffin, MP for the left-wing party France Unbowed (LFI), said the minister should not have “a minute, an hour, a week of his time to write a book” when the public has “great concerns” about the Inflation”.
Labor Minister Olivier Dussopt said he had not read his colleague’s book but said it shows that “feelings … are behind the ministers’ suits,” he told BFMTV.
“Literature allows me to get away from it all, to step back and think differently,” Le Marie added on Twitter.
‘There is a need to get up earlier, go to bed later and devote one’s weekends and holidays.’
