Rapper and prison reform activist Meek Mill is giving his hometown Philadelphia in a big way this holiday season.

According to a press release, Meek Mill plans to give Christmas gifts worth $500,000 to needy families in Philadelphia. The event will take place on December 19.

The hip-hop artist promoted the effort through his Instagram account when he announced that it would be done in collaboration with his own company, Dreamchasers, the owner of the New England Patriot Robert Kraft, Owner Philadelphia 76ers Michael Rubin and Jay-Z‘S Roc Nation.

The Philadelphia rapper also announced that he will be donating an additional $30,000 to the Philadelphia chapter of Twelve Days of Christmas, a volunteer organization that donates to families in need during the holiday season.
